6 week course for mums-to-be for your first or subsequent pregnancies

Each one and a half hour session is divided into four areas; breathing practice, mindful movement on the birth ball, birth talk topic and meditation. This gives you a range of techniques to practice and use at any point of your pregnancy, labour and birth and are beneficial for any type of birth regardless of where or how you have chosen to to give birth. Discover the techniques that work for you through :

Come and try the first session for £10 and this will be deducted from the total course fee if you decide you would like to learn and practice more or book the six week course for £45.

Suitable from any stage of pregnancy, although we recommend you wait until after your first scan for your own reassurance. 
 
All you need is comfy clothing and a birthing ball.

Preparation For Parenthood Couples 5 Week Antenatal Course

A unique 5 week course designed for mums-to-be and partners which combines the MummyNatal Birth Workshop, BabyNatal Practical Baby Care Workshop and BabyNatal Baby First Aid Workshop to give parents-to-be the skills, confidence, knowledge and choices for their birth and for the months beyond.
The first two weeks cover the whole journey of labour and birth.
This includes:
  • Physiology of labour and birth
  • Birth choices and plans
  • Birth movement, positioning and breathing
  • Role of the birthing partner
  • The sensations of birth and how to cope
  • What to do if things don’t go to plan

Weeks 3 and 4 cover caring for your new born so you have the skills and current information to equip you as you enter your new life as a family. We aim to make your transition into parenthood a smooth and enjoyable journey through our practical, fun and hands-on activities. The areas covered include:
BABY CARE BASIS
Learn key skills including how to handle you baby, dressing, nappy changing, cord care, bathing and winding.
BABY SAFETY
Make sure you are up to date with recommendations and guidance for keeping your baby safe.
NEW BORN CHOICES
Find out more about the tests, checks and choices which will be offered for your newborn from birth.
PARENTING CHOICES
Reusable and disposable nappies, different kinds of baby wipes, baby wearing (slings and carriers), routines and being baby-led, to swaddle or not.. all choices are uncovered!

The final week covers the life saving techniques of baby first aid. A comprehensive, practical yet fun 2 hour session fully accredited by the Association of First Aiders, AOFA. This workshop is infant specific for babies aged 0-12 months. You will learn life saving skills and will gain the confidence of what to do in a medical emergency. The course covers; primary survey, unconsciousness, recovery position, techniques of cpr, choking management, burns and febrile convulsions.

Our classes are relaxed and run in small groups, giving lots of opportunity for questions and discussion.
